About BCI

International education that turns knowledge into action

Founded in 2012, The Boston Cambridge Institute builds international education programs for teenagers, college students and professionals. Every program combines academic content, cultural immersion and direct contact with the innovation ecosystem of Boston and Cambridge.

Over fifteen years, more than 3,000 participants have gone through experiences designed to build critical thinking, independence and the ability to execute. The learning happens inside the classroom and well beyond it, through visits, mentoring and projects that have to be delivered.

What stays with them

BCI does not hand over a trip. It hands over a project built from nothing, presented in public, and owned by the student who made it.

Flagship program

BCI Leaders Program

BCI's flagship program brings together students aged 11 to 17 for an intensive experience of about two weeks in Boston and Cambridge, with thematic classes, visits, American mentoring and a business project developed from scratch to a final pitch.

The content is organized in modules covering entrepreneurial mindset, opportunity recognition, business, applied artificial intelligence, leadership, communication and presentation. Each participant leaves with a project they built and presented in public.

Pillars of the experience

Five pillars hold the program together

The structure repeats every edition because it works: content, real context, mentoring, delivery and recognition.

  • Thematic Classes

Academic content organized in modules, taught in English by educators and professionals, in language suited to the age group and always tied to practical application.

  • Visits and Learning Activities

Boston and Cambridge become an extension of the classroom. Universities, research centers, companies and startups visited with a clear academic purpose.

  • Mentoring

Sessions with local professionals and mentors who follow the projects as they evolve and bring the perspective of people building inside the American ecosystem.

  • Business Project

Each group identifies a real opportunity and develops a project from scratch, moving through ideation, development, mentoring and pitch preparation.

  • Closing Ceremony

The experience ends with the final project presentations and a ceremony that publicly recognizes each participant's work.

Where it happens

Boston and Cambridge

Few regions in the world hold this much academic and scientific density. Boston and Cambridge bring together universities, research centers, leading hospitals, established companies and early stage startups within a few miles of one another.

That environment is what gives the program its context. Participants move through places where science, technology, health, artificial intelligence and entrepreneurship are everyday work, and they leave with a concrete reference for what can be built.

Operations and safety

A structure built to host teenagers

Fifteen years leading groups of young people abroad produced a protocol of our own. For families, the operation weighs as much as the academic content.

  1. An experienced team

Professionals and educators used to accompanying teenagers on international programs.

  2. Continuous supervision

The team stays with the group throughout the schedule, inside and outside the academic activities.

  3. Communication with families

Constant contact for the duration of the program, with an update to families at the end of each day.

  4. Housing and transport

Structure organized and accompanied by the team, from campus housing to the daily transfers.

  5. Defined protocols

Established procedures for transfers, activities and emergency situations.

Singularis partnership

BCI operates in partnership with Singularis, a travel agency with more than 30 years of experience, responsible for the logistical structure of the programs.

Custom programs

Programs designed to fit

Beyond its own programs, BCI develops custom educational experiences for institutions that want to take their groups abroad with a clear academic purpose.

  • Schools

Immersion programs for student groups, aligned with the school calendar and its academic plan.

  • Universities

Study Abroad, cultural immersions and academic modules designed together with the institution.

  • Companies

Executive programs and immersions in innovation and artificial intelligence for corporate teams.
