Who we are

International education that turns knowledge into action

Founded in 2012, The Boston Cambridge Institute (BCI) runs international education programs dedicated to the formation and development of teenagers, college students, professionals and executives across many fields.

Over 15 years, BCI has delivered more than 30 sessions and experiences in the United States and Brazil, bringing together more than 3,000 participants. Boston and Cambridge are the institute's main academic base, and its track record also includes programs in California, in Florida and, recently, in Brazil, hosting American students on a study abroad program.

BCI's approach combines academic excellence, leadership and future-ready skills, contact with professors, specialists, entrepreneurs and experienced professionals, and hands-on activities and projects that build critical thinking, innovation, collaboration, communication and the ability to turn ideas into action.

The institute's flagship program is the BCI Leaders Program, dedicated to middle and high school students. In parallel, BCI runs programs for college students, physicians and healthcare professionals, professionals from different fields, executives and entrepreneurs, plus custom experiences for schools, universities, companies and other institutions.

Our history

From 2012 to 2027

Each period brought a new format. What stayed the same was the structure: study, apply, present.

  1. 2012 to 2015

    Founding and first expansions

BCI is founded in Boston and runs its first sessions, among them the BCI Leaders Program, the institute's flagship, which celebrates 15 years in 2027. The institute expands with the Technology and Computer Science Experience, held in California.

  2. 2016 to 2019

    New destinations and new formats

The portfolio grows with the Disney Learning Experience in Central Florida and with programs for physicians and healthcare professionals.

  3. 2020 to 2021

    Media Technology and Virtual Experience

The Media Technology & Disney Learning Experience is held in partnership with Full Sail University. The Virtual Experience then keeps academic content and mentoring running through a period without travel.

  4. 2022 to 2024

    Back on the ground

Programs return to Boston and Cambridge and settle into the format that defines the BCI Leaders Program: themed classes, visits and Learning Activities, American mentoring and a business project.

  5. 2025 to 2026

    Entrepreneurship and artificial intelligence

The Entrepreneurship Leadership Accelerator organizes the curriculum around building a project, and artificial intelligence joins the syllabus as Artificial Intelligence for Entrepreneurs.

  6. 2027

    15th Anniversary Edition

The BCI Leaders Program 2027 marks 15 years with a special edition in Boston and Cambridge.

Method

Learn, apply, present

Every BCI program follows the same logic: participants study a subject, test it outside the classroom and finish by presenting something of their own.

01

Themed Classes

Academic content in entrepreneurship, leadership, innovation, communication and artificial intelligence, taught in a classroom setting.

02

Visits and Learning Activities

Universities, research centers, companies and startups are part of the curriculum, each visit with a defined purpose.

03

American Mentoring

Sessions with professionals and entrepreneurs who follow each project and give concrete feedback.

04

Business Project

Every group builds a project from scratch, from spotting the opportunity to preparing the pitch.

05

Closing Ceremony

The program ends with project presentations and certificates, in front of invited guests.

Operations and safety

A structure designed for groups of teenagers

Taking a group of young people abroad takes method. BCI works with its own coordination team, a defined routine and constant communication with families.

  • Fifteen years of experience leading groups of teenagers abroad.
  • A coordination team stays with the group throughout the program.
  • Regular communication with families while the program runs.
  • Housing, meals and transportation organized and supervised.
  • Defined protocols for transfers, activities and emergencies.
  • Ground rules shared with families and participants before departure.

Coordination shows in the details.

Partnership with Singularis

BCI works in partnership with Singularis, a travel agency with more than 30 years of international experience.

Singularis

The split is straightforward, and each side answers for what it does best. BCI owns the academic direction and the running of the program: content, educators and mentors, educational coordination and the relationships with institutions in the United States. Singularis owns the travel operation: flights, housing, transportation and support for families on logistics, before and during the program.

Families
